Lord, I pray for a man who loves You more than he loves me.

A man of integrity. A man who leads with wisdom and follows with humility.

I trust You with this. I trust You with him.

— D.A.

Written while she was single. Before she knew his name.

The Story

In 2014, Dammy Akhigbe sat down with a journal and wrote thirty prayers. Not prayers for a job, or a house, or a holiday — but prayers for a husband she had never met. She prayed with specificity, with faith, and with complete surrender.

She prayed for his character. His relationship with God. The way he would lead. The way he would love. She prayed for things she didn't even have language for yet — and God heard every word.

He did.

Ten years later, married to the man those prayers described — almost word for word — Dammy is sharing those thirty prayers with you. Not as a formula. Not as a guarantee. But as a testimony: that God is faithful, that waiting is not wasted, and that faith written down has a way of becoming a story you get to live.

"Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart."

— Psalm 37:4

Is This For You?

This Book Is For You
If…

You're in a season of waiting — and you believe, but you're struggling to keep believing.

You want to pray with more intention, but don't always know where to start.

You're trusting God with something deeply personal — a relationship, a promise, a desire of your heart.

You want to see what faith written down can become — a record of trust, a testimony in the making.

You believe God is faithful, and you want thirty days to remember why.

A note from Dammy

"I didn't write these prayers because I had it all figured out. I wrote them because I didn't — and I needed to give my uncertainty somewhere to go."

— Dammy Akhigbe

Meet Dammy Akhigbe

Dammy is a wife, writer, and woman of faith who believes deeply in the power of prayer — not as a vending machine, but as a conversation with a God who listens.

She writes under the name @signedyourwife — a name that tells its own story. In 2014, she wrote thirty prayers in a journal. In 2024, she got to look back at those pages and see how God answered them, one by one, in the most unexpected and faithful ways.

Preparing for the Promise is the story of that decade — and an invitation for you to write your own.
